What this site is

One place to plan a Le Morne visit properly: whether the trail is open, how hard the hike really is, which beach fits your day, where to stay, and why the mountain is treated as a memorial landscape rather than a viewpoint.

It is an independent publication. It is not an official UNESCO, government or Le Morne Heritage Trust Fund website.

How the guides are researched

Factual claims about access, the trail, heritage and ecology are based on official and primary sources: Le Morne Heritage Trust Fund visitor information, the UNESCO World Heritage listing, and published research. Every guide lists its sources at the bottom.

Live conditions use the Open-Meteo forecast and marine models, and the trail status is verified manually against official notices. Where something is uncertain or can change at short notice, trail access above all, the guides say so and point to the official authority instead of guessing.

Independence and money

Recommendations are never sold. Where the site earns anything, such as bookable experiences and in future direct stay bookings with local properties, those placements are labelled, and they never change safety guidance or rankings. If a partnership would conflict with honest advice, the advice wins.

When you request the free Le Morne guidebook, Andeor saves your first name, surname, email address, guide edition and request date to provide and manage your download. This does not create an account or subscribe you to marketing.

A secure cookie remembers download access for 24 hours. It contains an expiry and guide version, not your contact details. The guide request is kept in Andeor’s existing guide-registration system and a private Le Morne record. Contact contact@mornebrabant.org to request access, correction or deletion of your guide-request information.

The PDF includes the trail access status recorded when it is downloaded. Saved copies cannot update themselves. Always check the live access page before hiking.

Ask Le Morne asks for your name and email before you chat. These self-declared details are held in a signed cookie on your browser for up to 24 hours and checked by this website when you ask a question.

Your questions and recent chat messages are sent to OpenAI to generate answers. Your name and email are not included in that request. This step does not create a marketplace account, verify email ownership or subscribe you to marketing. You can clear the session by deleting this website’s cookies.
